A Sales Funnel is the process through which brands lead customers toward a purchase. A sales funnel includes multiple steps, however a prospective customer (or lead) may not enter the funnel at the first step, depending on their first interaction with the brand. In fact, digital marketing and the penetration of the Internet and its technologies into our lives has resulted in a disruption of the traditional sales funnel. Increasingly, fewer leads enter the funnel at the top, as targeted methods of marketing result in more qualified leads.
